There has been a lot of releases relating to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles such as the game launches of Shredder’s Revenge and the Cowabunga Collection along with the Mutant Mayhem film coming out later this year.
To continue on with the hype, Paramount Global has announced (via Polygon) that there will be a new action RPG based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin. For those unaware, TMNT: The Last Ronin is a graphic novel mini-series released by IDW starting in 2020.
The story follows a more dark tone with all but one of the turtles dead, and the surviving member who continues their legacy through the use of all their classic weapons.
According to senior vice president Doug Rosen, the team plans on the game being similar to that of the newer God of War titles. Also, as with the original comic, the story would be darker and aimed towards older audiences compared to other recent releases.
No other details were given about the game, such as developer or when the game is expected to launch. Coming from this, it appears that the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game will be a few years away from release.
