We’re not sure as to why several large Japanese developers/publishers all decided to officially change their names this year, but Tecmo Koei is the latest to switch up their name as well.
The company has been known as Koei Tecmo in Japan, so it makes sense that both their European and American branches would be re-named to match their home country’s division.
“It is our belief that in this manner we can further expand the Koei Tecmo brand under a common name globally,” the company said in a statement via e-mail.
As with the other company renamings, from now on we’ll be using the Koei Tecmo tag for any of their games.
