DMM Games has shared a teaser trailer for the recently announced Nintendo Switch game, Gal Metal (Editor’s Note: We originally translated this as Garu Metal prior to the official spelling).
Featured above, the new teaser shows off some real-life Japanese high school girls playing various musical instruments – all set to a heavy metal cover of Beethoven’s 9th symphony, Ode to Joy. It’s pretty fantastic. Needless to say, the game is described as a music-rhythm game, with some adventure elements.
The game is being handled by Shuuhou Imai as scenario writer and overall supervision, as well as Tak Fujii returning to game development as executive producer. Development is roughly 60% complete, and the game will have its public debut at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. Heavy metal mascot Nyango Star is also teased for the game.
