The Best Arlo Counters to help with getting to Giovanni.
The Crackling Voltage and Team GO Rocket Takeover events are currently underway in Pokemon Go. During these events, Team Rock minions will spawn in abundance assisting with the Shadowy Skirmishes’ special research task. The Special Research event will be available until March 1st, 2023. The special research requires trainers to defeat Giovanni in order to capture Shadow Registeel.
Before trainers can do that, they will need to defeat Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra who can only be discovered using a rocket Radar. A Rocket Radar can be purchased either for 200 Pokecoins or by getting six rocket components. Once those three have been defeated, trainers will receive a Super Rocket Radar. With the Super Rocket Radar, trainers will be able to find Giovanni. Defeating Giovanni’s subordinates is no easy task, so here are the best Team Rocket Arlo Counters.

Arlo Counters
Arlo’s Pokemon line-up always consists of Shadow Nidoran (Male). During the Team GO Rocket Takeover event, Arlo can grant shiny shadow Nidoran. Arlo always feels like the easiest of Giovanni’s generals to take down, but we’ve still comprised a list of the best Arlo counters to help you take down his Pokemon team.
Arlo’s first Pokemon is always Shadow Nidoran. His second Pokemon can be one of three Pokemon, Crowbat, Steelix, or Cradily. His final Pokemon can be either Charizard, Scizzor, or Armaldo. Trainers can only use three Pokemon to take on any Team Rocket opponent. Make sure to choose your party carefully or else the fight can be exhausting. Below we will be a list of Pokemon with the most well-rounded moves to counter Arlo’s Pokemon.
Nidoran Counters
Nidoran is a Poison-type Pokemon; it is weak to Psychic & Ground-type moves.
- Rhyperior – Mud Slap & Rock Wrecker or Surf
- Mega Swampert – Mud Shot & Earthquake or Surf
- Excadrill – Mud Shot & Drill Run or Rock Slide
- Golurk – Mud Slap & Shadow Punch or Dynamic Punch
Crowbat Counters
Crobat is a Speedy heavy hitting Poison Flying Pokemon that is weak to Rock, Psychic, Ice, and Electric-type moves. Below are the best Crobat counters.
