Koei Tecmo has been quietly working on Ni-Oh, an action game that was originally revealed way back at the 2005 E3 expo.
The game was put on hold (cancelled), only to be resumed under the internal Team Ninja studio. Koei Tecmo said the game was in an alpha state back in 2012, although we didn’t have much to go off of, other than some concept art (featured above) and the original reveal trailer, which is probably outdated by now.
Now, we’ve gotten an update on the game, although it’s not really anything of note. Speaking with VentureBeat, Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi teased the game’s progress:
“I have heard rumors that it’s been stopped, but it’s actually very much in development. We still need a little time before showing it off, but it is starting to come together and feel good. You should definitely keep an eye out for it in the future.”
So there you go. Are you guys still excited for the game?
