The World Ends with You director Tatsuya Kando announced he’s resigned from Square Enix after nearly three decades.
Kando left Square Enix effective May 31st after 29 years at the company. His last credited game at Square Enix was Foamstars, their party-shooter that most recently went free-to-play.
Kando’s most notable work is obviously The World Ends with You, though he also worked on Final Fantasy: All the Bravest and supervised on several Kingdom Hearts games

On a personal note, as of May 31, I resigned from Square Enix Co.
During my 29 years with the company, I was involved in many projects such as Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends with You, and many more. I was involved in many projects and gained invaluable experience.
The feedback from everyone who played our games was very encouraging, and it became the driving force that propelled us forward in our day-to-day development. I really appreciate it! Thank you very much!
I will continue to do my best to create interesting contents to make everyone smile!
