Tatsuya Izumi leaves Nippon Ichi Software

Tatsuya Izumi

Tatsuya Izumi, the director on a number of titles at Nippon Ichi Software, has abruptly left the company after a long tenure.

Izumi announced the news of his departure from Nippon Ichi Software in his newly launched Twitter/X account, which seemingly also confirms he has gone freelance.

The social media profile also seemingly reveals a new company called “26Works” in his profile banner. It remains unclear if Izumi launched this new company or is just working for them as a freelancer.

Izumi started working for Nippon Ichi Software way back in 2001 for the original Disgaea: Hour of Darkness for PS2. He worked on a number of titles and eventually directed The Witch and the Hundred Knight, and both the Prinny and Labyrinth of Refrain series.

Further information from Izumi wasn’t shared.
