Competitive gameshow party game Task Time announced

Task Time

Publisher Wired Productions and developer ReadGraves announced Task Time, a new gameshow-inspired competitive party game.

Task Time is in development for Windows PC (via Steam). While a release date wasn’t announced, the first playtest is live now until October 1st.

“I’ve seen members of the Wired team transform from quiet and measured souls, into mouth frothing and evil laughing demons while playtesting Task Time,” said Leo Zullo, Managing Director at Wired Productions in a press release. “That is enough for me to know ReadGraves have delivered a wonderfully chaotic party game.”

ReadGraves founder Sam Read-Graves added, “We made Task Time to see what happens when you throw a gameshow, a physics engine and all your friends into a blender. Task Time is competitive, chaotic and completely unpredictable, where no two rounds are ever the same. It’s an excuse to laugh at each other, celebrate small victories, glorious failures and delight in ruining your friends’ plans. The rules change every minute and the game doesn’t care about fairness; it cares about giving you stories to shout about afterwards and we’re really happy Wired Productions have joined us on our journey of chaos. To be honest, we wanted to make WarioWare but Nintendo already did that, so we made some friendslop instead.”

Here’s a rundown on the game, plus its reveal trailer:

Task Time is a gameshow inspired competitive party game where 8 friends dive headfirst into 6 rounds of unpredictable tasks and physics-fuelled chaos, to finish top of the leaderboard. From (some of) the people that worked on Gang Beasts and Fall Guys, this is your new favourite friendslop.

Charge into unbridled mayhem, completing unhinged tasks that let you shrink your friends, steal all their stuff, and then watch them fall into lava! You might win or you might completely flop, but hey, there (probably) won’t be any real-life consequences. Of course, nothing is fair, but that’s exactly the point.

Task Time is easy to pick up, impossible to master, and way too much fun to put down. With half a million randomised tasks, no two rounds ever play out the same. So, even the clumsiest player can pull off an absurd and glorious comeback.

Whether you embrace sabotage, survival, or pure mischief, Task Time promises non-stop hilarious moments that test your friendships and maybe even your sanity!
