Tarsier Studios, the guys behind Little Big Planet Vita and a contributor to the original two LBP games, have announced a brand new third person action adventure game titled simply Hunger.
In the game, players will control protagonist Six, a girl who has been kidnapped from home and whisked away to a surrealist and fantastical underwater colony dubbed The Maw. After an “unexpected twist of fate,” Six gets the chance to escape, and her harrowing journey through The Maw gives a glimpse into the “corrupt heart of modern happiness.”
The game will feature classic action/adventure gameplay, but it will also have stealth elements, as well as lots of exploration as well. Hunger was made possible in part to the 500,000 Danish kroner ($91,736.50) that came from the Nordic Game Program.
Tarsier CEO Ola Holmdahl had this to say in a press release:
“This is not only a huge vote of confidence from the Nordic Game Program expert group. The grant enables us to explore an idea we are deeply passionate about. Hunger holds fantastic potential, and our job now is to harness that promise into a great experience.”
Hunger is the first original IP by the studio since their PS3 offering The City of Metronome, which never saw release. A release date was not confirmed, but Tarsier studios did confirm that the game is being poised for a Playstation 4 release.
