Bandai Namco has confirmed Tales of Symphonia Remastered has no content removed, one of the ongoing concerns fans have with these re-releases.
The publisher released a FAQ that answered questions fans had on the remaster. The answers put Bandai Namco ahead of rumors, and answered some questions about the game’s development.
Firstly, the company has said that content will not be removed between the original release and the remastered version.
However, they also said that no content would be added either, instead, Tales of Symphonia Remastered appears to be a direct improvement.
The removal of content is sure to be a concern for fans, as older games seem to sometimes run afoul of modern sensibilities.
Not to mention some platform holders have rejected original content from some games getting a remaster, effectively compelling developers to censor out original content.
Bandai Namco also answered the question of “Why was [Symphonia] chosen?” for a remastered release. Tales of Symphonia was the first Tales game released worldwide, so it holds a special place for global and Japanese fans of the franchise.
Tales of Symphonia Remastered is launching on February 16th in Japan and February 17th worldwide, across Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
