Tales of Symphonia was released back on 2003 for the Nintendo Gamecube, and later for PS2. It got a direct sequel in 2008, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, and was then released together as a single package under Tales of Symphonia Chronicles for PS3. Finally, the original Tales of Symphonia was then ported to Windows PC (via Steam) in 2016.

Tales of Symphonia does seem popular considering the fact that it got an OVA anime series, seven manga collections, seven drama CDs, two novel series, and the aforementioned direct-sequel and subsequent re-releases. It was generally well-received at launch with critics praising its gameplay but criticizing its main story.
