Now that Tales of Arise has been launched, we’ve learned Bandai Namco is thinking of responding to requests for remakes and remasters of previous games in the franchise.
The news that Bandai Namco is thinking of responding to requests for remakes and remasters comes via Tales of general producer Yusuke Tomizawa and Tales of Arise game director Hirokazu Kagawa.
“I can’t give you any specifics at this point, but we’re thinking of responding to requests for remakes and remasters,” Tomizawa said in an interview with 4Gamer.
He continued, “It wouldn’t be a brand if there was nothing after the release of Tales of Arise until the next complete work, and the appeal of Tales of as a character brand is that people can continue to enjoy it through Tales of Festival and video works in between works.”
Tomizawa also talked up more cross-platform titles, like smartphone spinoffs.
“We understand that there are people who want to enjoy the game on consumer devices, so we would like to continue releasing software. However, if we do that alone, the game will end once the content is consumed, so we’re thinking of combining it with smartphone applications that we’ll continue to operate,” Tomizawa said.
Tales of Arise is now available across Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review for the game here – we highly recommend it!
