Tales of Berseria Launches Next Year in Japan, New Trailer

Bandai Namco has finally announced the release window for Tales of Berseria.

The upcoming PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 RPG will be launching in Japan sometime next year.

Alongside the release window announcement comes the game’s second official trailer, which you can view above. Finally, the publisher shared a few new tidbits of information for the game, as well as a new character:

The game’s theme is “Affection and Reason.” The game showcases the conflict between affection and reason, in regards to the protagonist Velvet, who naturally has strong affections and emotions.

She runs into issues when dealing with characters who have abandoned emotions and only follow reason. The above trailer shows off a power in Velvet’s left hand, and while it’s a main part of the story, it can also be interpreted as a visual representation of her anger.

Laiphaset is a new character, who is designed by Minoru Iwamoto and voiced by Azumi Asakura. The young boy supports Velvet, and is the polar opposite of her in the sense of being designed as an image of light, while she’s more likened to shadow. He plays a big part in the story.

The Linear Motion Battle System has been improved, with free camera control, free run-based character control, as well as Artes being assign-able to the four face buttons.
