The latest issue of Famitsu (via Hachima Kikou) has revealed some interesting tidbits regarding Bandai Namco’s latest in the Tales series, Tales of Berseria.

We’ve learned the game is actually a prequel of sorts to Tales of Zestiria, meaning there may be things you’ll see in Tales of Berseria that are directly related to its successor. Coming from this, it also means Berseria takes place in the past.

While Berseria takes place in a wasteland of sorts, the continent it’s located on is eventually known as Glenwood, which is where Zestiria takes place. Berseria also has a wildly different region, including scenery, towns, and more.

Supposedly, if you explore Berseria enough, you might find out the hidden secrets behind the events which led up to Tales of Zestiria.

Tales of Berseria is launching on both PC and PlayStation 4 in both North America and Europe (a release date isn’t confirmed at this time).
