Former Managing Director of Nintendo of Europe, Takao Yamane has joined the PlatinumGames team as its new Chief Business officer.

Yamane has had a long tenure in the Japanese games industry, having worked for Nintendo for over 25 years prior to joining the PlatinumGames team. When asked why he joined the team, Yamane stated it was to help Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba “make their dreams a reality”.

Since PlatinumGames’ changes in February 2022 were announced, the company has seen a change of leadership, with Inaba becoming the company’s CEO. The studio recently had the troubled release Babylon’s Fall but finally locked in the hotly-anticipated release of Bayonetta 3. Here is hoping that PlatinumGames will see a bright future with Yamane on board.
