Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Kou Shibusawa shared the Taiko Risshiden V DX debut trailer, giving us the first look at the enhanced port.

As covered in our previous report, Taiko Risshiden V DX is a “recreation game,” it’s actually an enhanced port of Taiko Risshiden V with over 100 new generals, new scenarios, and more.

Here’s a rundown on the game:

New elements are added, and the Taikou is finally back!

Taikou Rishiden V is a re-creation game released in 2004 as the fifth game in the Taikou Rishiden series.

You can be a warrior to own a castle, a merchant to the feudal lords, or a ninja to learn ninjutsu and work in the shadows. In addition to the above, you can become a pirate, a swordsman, a doctor, a blacksmith, a tea master, etc. You can enjoy your own success in the Warring States period.

In Taikou Rishiden V DX, the original fun of Taikou Rishiden V is maintained, but with the addition of over 100 playable generals, new scenarios, and many other new elements, you can enjoy a more diverse world of the Warring States period.

In addition, the game has been remastered in HD, and various improvements have been made, such as the addition of an auto-save function and ending list, as well as adjustments to the UI, to make it more comfortable to play as many times as possible.

What is a recreation game?

A game genre unique to Koei Tecmo that combines simulation games and role-playing games, such as the Taikou Rishiden series, the Age of Exploration series, and the Ishin no Arashi series.

Taiko Risshiden V DX is launching for both Windows PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch on May 19th in Japan.
