T.P Bon anime now available on Netflix

T.P Bon anime

Netflix has begun streaming of the long-awaited anime adaptation for T.P Bon, based on Doraemon creator’s other popular manga from the 70s and 80s.

T.P Bon (also known as Time Patrol Bon) has begun streaming its first season exclusively on Netflix, who also co-produced the new series. A second season will quickly follow on July 17th, also only on Netflix. This is the first anime series based on the manga, though a TV anime film was produced back in 1989.

The anime was produced by animation studio Bones (My Hero Academia, etc) and is based on the Fujiko F. Fujio (Doraemon) manga of the same name. It follows Bon Namihira (Akihisa Wakayama), an average high school student whose life gets turned upside down when he meets Ream Stream (Atsumi Tanezaki), a Time Patrol agent from the future.

“Together with Ream and Buyoyon, Bon travels to various historical moments, such as the construction of the Egyptian pyramids, feudal Japan, the Persian wars in Greece, and much more,” an official description reads. “Despite occasional doubts and failures, Bon, Ream, and their team courageously pursue their mission, navigating the delicate balance between lives that can be saved and those that cannot.”

Here’s a rundown on the new series, plus the official trailer:

An ordinary junior high school student encounters the pages of history! A manga by Fujiko F. Fujio gets a new anime series adaptation for the first time in 30 years.
