Sydney Sweeney is confirmed to star in the Split Fiction film, based on the popular action-adventure game of the game name from Electronic Arts and developer Hazelight.
While details on the new Split Fiction film are scant, the new report (via Variety) notes it’s also not decided which of the game’s protagonists – Zoe or Mio – will have Sweeney starring as.
The new Split Fiction film will be directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, Wicked) with a screenplay by Deadpool & Wolverine writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
Both Mike Goldberg and Dmitri M. Johnson’s Story Kitchen will produce the new Split Fiction film, and Sweeney is set to executive produce.
The original game is a cooperative-play only game just like the studio’s previous It Takes Two game, and stars the aforementioned dual protagonists Zoe and Mio who become trapped in the worlds they created.
Their cooperative adventure game has been available since March 2025 for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. A Switch 2 port is planned.
