Bandai Namco has announced Sword Art Online: Replication Project.

The new virtual reality game is being developed in partnership with Japanese mobile phone company NTT Docomo.

Replication Project takes place within the eponymous virtual reality MMO known as “Sword Art Online,” where you once again are stuck within a virtual game where death means death in real life.

The protagonist meets a lonely yet caring girl named “Mist” within the floating castle “Aincrad.” The goal is naturally to survive until the end of the game, protect Mist, and overcome the challenges that lie in wait.

Bandai Namco is looking for “5G testers” for an upcoming hands-on event that is set to run from December 8th to the 10th. Further details can be found on the Docomo website, however applications won’t be open until November 15th.

Finally, you can find the game’s official website here.
