Nintendo has updated their sales figures for the Nintendo Switch, officially marking it at 152.12 million units sold as of March 31, 2025.
This has the console inching closer to overtaking the Nintendo DS sales figures (154 million) as the second best selling console of all time. There is still a sizeable gap between it and the PS2 (160 million), which remains the best selling console of all time.
The previous milestone for Switch sales was 150.86 million unit sold as of February this year, meaning 1.26 million consoles were sold in the months since.
As indicated by Nintendo’s own charts, this continues a declining rate of sales for the console. This is not a surprise considering it’s entering its 8th year of production and the Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch next month.
This revision also sees updated sales figures of the best selling first-party games for the Switch:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 68.20 million copies
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 47.82 million copies
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 36.24 million copies
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 32.81 million copies
- Super Mario Odyssey – 29.28 million copies
- Pokémon Scarlet/Pokémon Violet – 26.79 million copies
- Pokémon Sword/Pokémon Shield – 26.72 million copies
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – 21.73 million copies.
- Super Mario Party – 21.16 million copies
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 18.25 million copies
