Nintendo has confirmed that Super Smash Bros. on 3DS is being slightly delayed to October 3rd. The Wii U version still has no date, although it seems to still be on track for this Winter.
Nintendo has confirmed that the Mii Fighters and NFP figurines will be supported in the game.
Mii Fighters are coming in three different varieties – Mii Brawlers, Mii Swordfighters, and Mii Gunners. Brawlers prefer to fight with their fists, and to get in up close. Swordfighters are naturally adept at using swords, and remain cool and collected in battle. Gunners are fans of using projectiles, and have different styled projectiles. Each type can choose up to four special moves from twelve options, meaning there are 36 possible combinations.
The NFP figurines that were revealed awhile back are now known as “Amiibo.” If you put an Amiibo on a Wii U GamePad, the characters data is instantly downloaded into the game that you’re playing. The data can also be sent back to the figurines, allowing you to have your own figure, with its own stats.
Amiibo is being prepped up for a bunch of other Nintendo games, like Mario Kart 8.
