Now I only got to play one round of the new Smash Bros. on the 3DS, but after only one round, my mind has been put at ease. Nintendo has made Smash fun again.
I know that’s kind of a crazy statement, but I absolutely hated Brawl. I was really hoping that they would bring back more of the gameplay from Melee, and remove the infuriating ability to trip while running around in the game.
Nintendo managed to make these changes, and more. I played my round as my favorite Nintendo character of all time, Samus, (with armor on) and noticed immediately that the way she plays has been changed. She’s more nimble, and I absolutely loved playing as her as compared with other Smash games, where I normally skip her for Marth.
The 3DS version of the game looks great and don’t quote me on this, but I believe it is in fact running at 60 frames per second, which is just awesome. There was absolutely no input lag when fighting, at least for me. Finally, and this is just so everyone knows, I won that round.
The new Super Smash Bros. is coming on October 3rd for the 3DS, and will be coming sometime this holiday season for the Wii U.
