Super Real Mahjong PV Pulled from Switch eShop Because It Wasn’t Censored Enough

Japanese publisher MightyCraft has announced they’ve pulled the Nintendo Switch version of Super Real Mahjong PV because it wasn’t censored enough.

The 1994-released mahjong simulator with stripping mechanics was pulled due to the game having scenes that CERO (Computer Entertainment Rating Organization) and Nintendo both felt weren’t censored enough.

The publisher has pulled the game from sale, and is reevaluating the game to be reviewed by Nintendo and CERO. A new patch will be released for players after it is reviewed and approved, and the game is expected to be back up on the eShop in a week or so.

Previously, new censorship policies regarding sexual themes has been predominantly spearheaded by Sony, both in and out of Japan. Numerous games have been affected, including Omega Labyrinth ZSenran Kagura Burst Re:Newal, and many others.
