Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble details playable characters and customization

Sega has shared a bunch of new details and gameplay for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble focusing on its playable characters and customization.

Here’s a rundown on the new details, plus a new trailer:

Playable Characters

AiAi –  The happy-go-lucky and versatile chief monkey of the group. When he’s not busy playing, AiAi loves to relax and eat a delicious banana or two. Or three.

MeeMee  – Always positive, kind and reliable. MeeMee is the heart of the team, always ready to help those in need. Its ability to stop suddenly makes it ideal for navigating the most perilous levels.

Baby  – Very intelligent for his age, Baby is a very cool monkey who uses his small size and sharp reflexes to handle the most complicated courses.

GonGon  – Former rival turned AiAi’s best friend. He is training to become the strongest primate in the world. His enormous strength allows him to crush all obstacles and opponents that dare to stand in his way.

YanYan  – Fiercely fast and reckless, but a little shy, this fun-loving lemur is a martial arts expert trained by her father, the world’s toughest primate.

Doctor  – Head in the air, but known for his brilliant inventions, nothing can slow down this super smart monkey, not even amnesia. His expertise in spinning dashes makes his opponents just as dizzy as he looks.

Palette  – The newest member of the team, Palette is an adventurer who meets AiAi and her friends and convinces them to join her on an adventure to find the legendary Banana. Fast as lightning, his rotational acceleration abilities help him create shortcuts and complete courses in no time.

In Adventure Mode, players will also meet  Fes, Tee and Val, members of the infamous Gala family, treasure hunters with a penchant for rare and valuable artifacts. The trio sets their sights on the relics that AiAi and her team work tirelessly to recover, in an epic race to find the greatest treasure of all time: the legendary Banana!

Banana Rumble adds a whole bunch of customization elements for players to choose from, with over 300 unlockable items including hats, clothing, accessories, and even monkey balls. Most of these items can be purchased in the in-game store using points earned through regular play, either locally or online.

Additionally, players who play Online Battle Mode against random opponents can get a daily bonus with the Lucky Monkey Lottery! This virtual capsule machine allows players to draw a ball containing a reward from dozens of unique items, with new items in the future. There are even seasonal events planned, with fabulous surprises throughout the year.
