Super Mario Bros. animated movie is delayed to 2023

Nintendo announced the Super Mario Bros. animated movie is delayed to 2023.

While the Super Mario Bros. animated movie is delayed to 2023, the new premiere dates are April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America. The animated film, produced by Illumination Entertainment, was originally supposed to premiere in December 2022.

“This is Miyamoto. After consulting with Chris-san, my partner at Illumination on the Super Mario Bros. film, we decided to move the global release to Spring 2023–April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America. My deepest apologies but I promise it will be well worth the wait.”

The animated film, which stars Chris Pratt as Mario and Charlie Day as Luigi, had some interesting tidbits come out during production – like how Pratt won’t do an Italian accent during the movie.
