Super Hydorah gets a physical release on Switch

Limited Run Games have announced Super Hydorah gets a physical release on Nintendo Switch.

While Super Hydorah gets a physical release on Nintendo Switch, starting today pre-orders will begin for the collector’s edition of the Gradius like space shooter.

As per usual with Limited Run releases, Super Hydorah Collector’s Edition will come with a multitude of unique extras that can be seen below. Here’s a look:

As noted in the item description, Super Hydorah is being released in collaboration with the game’s publisher, Abylight Studios, and thus will not be part of Limited Run’s LRG Numbered collection. Pre-orders for the Switch release will end on May 8, 2022 at 11:59 EST.

The side scrolling shoot ’em up started in 2010 as a freeware game simply titled Hydorah. Following it’s success, the game’s creator, Locomalito, announced the development of  Super Hydorah, which was released digitally for a multitude of platforms in 2017.

Pilot, get into your Delta Lance and be prepared to fight against the evil meroptians!

An evil force has launched an invasion over the Omios star. Super Hydorah is a nonlinear horizontal shoot’ em up designed to offer a challenging and memorable experience, sublimating the wisdom and richness of traditional shmup classics. The game has direct action, nostalgic art and a wide variety of unique spatial content and situations. It is hours of intense fun, alone or with your friends, to face the menace of the Meroptians aboard the Delta Lance.

Super Hydorah is currently available digitally for PC (Steam), iOS, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch
