SUNSOFT has announced a crowdfunding campaign to port three of their classic Famicom titles to modern platforms.
The new crowdfunding campaign will be hosted on Japanese platform Campfire, and is being hosted to celebrate the Famicom’s 40th anniversary.
Here’s a rundown on all three games:
- Kanshaku Tamanage Kantarō no Tōkaidō Gojūsan-tsugi (released on July 3, 1986) Kantaro, a fireworks craftsman born in Kanda, can safely reach Edo and launch fireworks while the evil gang is waiting.
- The Wing of Madoola (released on December 18, 1986). An action game in which a female warrior, Lucia, confronts the traitor Dartos, who plans to conquer the world.
- Ripple Island (released on January 23, 1988) What will Kyle, a boy who dreamed of getting rich quick, choose at the end?
Funding will kick off on July 14th and will run through August 31st, to port all three games to Nintendo Switch and Windows PC (via Steam).
