Publisher Konami and developer MYTHRIL shared new details and trailers for Suikoden STAR LEAP, their recently announced smartphone spinoff game.

The new details and trailers were revealed today during the Suikoden Live broadcast, confirming the new spinoff takes place in 453 Solar Year, the same year Odessa Silverberg formed the Liberation Army that appeared in the original Suikoden game.

Several returning heroes and antagonists are returning in Suikoden STAR LEAP including Odessa Silverberg, Flik, Viktor, and Kraze Miles, as well as teases for other returning characters like Viki, Humphrey, Nina, and Leonardo.

Here’s a rundown on the new details, plus the new trailers:

Characters

Yua (voice by Liyuu) – The hero’s younger sister. Highly independent and passionate for cooking, she even goes on culinary training trips on her own. Highly sensitive to taste and smell, she has a promising future as a cuisinier.

Orhan (voice by Kazuhiko Inoue) – As a childhood buddy of Hou, he was also involved in the founding of the village. Similarly to his daughter, Shirin, he has a wide circle of friends and runs a tavern that people come to gossip in.

Farah (voice by Miho Wataya) – She works at the trading post and is always cheerful and lighthearted. She is often mistaken for a child, but rumor has it that she is even stronger than Hou due to lugging around so much luggage all the time.

Flanagan (voice by Kengo Takanashi) – A powerful village guard sent by Shapur.  His energy may make him appear like he lacks caution, but he is an open and honest person that quickly allowed him to fit in with the villagers.

Stendhal (voice by Inuko Inuyama) – A creature of the Rarby race who speaks our language and makes a living as an adventure-tale spinner. Having set his heart on writing the hero’s adventure chronology, he has forcefully moved into the archives room.

Odessa Silverberg (voice by Haruka Shiraishi) – An aristocrat of the Scarlet Moon Empire whom the hero met during his journey. With her innate kindness and strong sense of justice, she rose up against the Empire and goes on to become the leader of the Liberation Army.

Flik (voice by Yuichi Nakamura) – A traveling swordsman that Odessa and company encountered while being chased by the Empire. A bit of a show-off, but he has excellent swordsmanship and always makes sure to protect his allies. He later goes on to join the Liberation Army.

Viktor (voice by Katsuyuki Konishi) – Encounters Odessa during his journey, and being highly impressed by her strength of will, decides to fight alongside her. He has an easygoing and daring personality but his foundation in sword fighting is solid, and he later goes on to join the Liberation Army.

Locations

The Village – A village located to the east of the great Scarlet Moon Empire. Perched on the shore of a large lake, there are multiple bodies of water within the village. Amongst the luscious nature, the Great Tree stands in the center of the village, acting as its symbol and watching over the lives of the people.

Gregminster – The capital of the Scarlet Moon Empire, the Gregminster Castle towering high. A thriving commercial city always full of energy and vitality, people from around the world visit this place. The city inn is frequented by many people, including those from the Hero’s village.

Story Trailer

Suikoden STAR LEAP is in development for both iOS and Android as a free-to-play game and will feature 108 recruitable characters. A release date wasn’t announced.
