It’s strange when a Japanese company has doubts in their products, much like Konami seemingly had with bringing one of the greatest JRPGs in their entire roster, Suikoden II, to the PSOne classics portion of the Playstation Network.
The game has sold well enough to actually land a spot in the number one spot in December’s Playstation Network tallies, as per the Playstation Blog’s report.
Here’s the full breakdown of the top ten PSOne classics for the month:
PS Classics | |
---|---|
1 | Suikoden II |
2 | Suikoden |
3 | FINAL FANTASY VII |
4 | Bully |
5 | Crash Bandicoot |
6 | CTR: Crash Team Racing |
7 | Resident Evil 3: Nemesis |
8 | Crash Bandicoot 3: WARPED |
9 | Grand Theft Auto: Vice City |
10 | Resident Evil 2 |
It’s kind of hilarious/saddening to see the Sony Marketing guy, Justin Massongill, say he’s never played a game in the series – as I’m a pretty avid fan of the series, most especially Suikoden II.
Actual numbers weren’t shared – but it’s certainly nice to see the game doing well. Perhaps we’ll see Konami re-release the PS2 Suikoden games, as PS2 Classics?
