Though Suikoden 1 has been out on PSN for as long as I’ve owned a PS3, the sequel, which many consider the best of the series, has never had that honor. Today, at the PlayStation Experience, classic JRPG fans everywhere collectively lost their marbles when Sony announced that yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus … and he’s bringing Suikoden 2 to PSN.
What this means is that now both games will be available for the PS3 and Vita, allowing you to transfer your save to the sequel and experience the joy of having the McDohl child join your party in the second game. Laugh, if you want, but this pleases me greatly.
Having what is, in my mind, one of the very best RPGs of the 32-bit Generation on my Vita means a lot to me, as I’m sure it does to many others. Except now, my boxed copy of Suikoden 2 just took a nose dive in ebay value.
Suikoden 2 is making its way to the Playstation Network on December 9th.
