Studio IGGYMOB has announced they’ve acquired the GUNGRAVE IP from RED ENTERTAINMENT.

“We have fully acquired the GUNGRAVE intellectual property from RED ENTERTAINMENT,” the company said in a message. “I feel a mix of excitement and trepidation as we embark on this new journey alongside Yasuhiro Nightow and all of you. However, we will work tirelessly to build a better future. Thank you for your continued support.”

The most recent entry in the seriesGungrave G.O.R.E. Blood Heat, is in development for Windows PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, though a release date wasn’t announced.

That game is a rebuilt version of Gungrave G.O.R.E., their 2022-released Gungrave sequel for PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Get our review here!

The GUNGRAVE series began with the 2002 game by RED ENTERTAINMENT for PlayStation 2. It featured original character designs by Yasuhiro Nightow (Trigun) and mechanical designs by Kōsuke Fujishima (Oh My Goddess!, You’re Under Arrest, Sakura Wars).

GUNGRAVE spawned an anime series of the same name in 2003 and a sequel named GUNGRAVE OVERDOSE in 2004. The series laid dormant until Studio IGGYMOB approached RED ENTERTAINMENT to revive it with the GUNGRAVE VR game back in 2017 and the aforementioned sequel GUNGRAVE G.O.R.E. in 2022.
