Capcom has unveiled the Street Fighter 35th anniversary logo for the series, as the long-running franchise turns 35 in 2022.
The new Street Fighter 35th anniversary logo was revealed over on the company’s Japanese Twitter account, teasing future developments for the fighting game series.
“Street Fighter will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2022! Together with everyone who supports us, we have created a logo that will make the 35th anniversary exciting,” the company said. “Please look forward to the future development of the Street Fighter series!”
The original Street Fighter that started the entire franchise launched back on August 12th, 1987 in Japanese arcades. Thus, its 35th anniversary will fall on August 12th, 2022.
Previously, Capcom teased new developments for Street Fighter in 2022, confirming they are moving on from post-launch content for Street Fighter V and are focusing on the next release for the franchise.
“We, the development team, will use this experience as a springboard to move on to the next project!,” game director Takayuki Nakayama said at the time. Producer Shuhei Matsumoto teased “This is more of a ‘see you soon’ rather than a ‘goodbye.’ We look forward to providing you more information next year!”
While Street Fighter V: Champion Edition has only been available for Windows PC (via GamersGate, and Steam) and PlayStation 4, the rumored Street Fighter VI is purportedly coming to PC, Xbox One. Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
