XSEED games has announced that Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town has become the company’s fastest selling title to date.
In a recent press release, the game publisher noted that quick success of the latest installment to the Story of Seasons franchise. The game has sold over 200,000 copies on a single system in less than 2 months, a record which took the previous Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town 5 months to do.
XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., is proud to announce that the Nintendo Switch™ system farm/life sim game STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town is the company’s fastest-selling title with over 200,000 units sold on a single platform in North America. This milestone was reached within 2 months of its March release, breaking the record previously held by STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town, which took 5 months to reach 200,000 units sold before continuing on to reach a new sales milestone of over 250,000 units sold on Nintendo Switch in North America from its debut last July. The game has been receiving a steady stream of updates since launch to improve the player experience, with more improvements planned as the development team continues to listen to fan feedback
Despite potential game breaking bugs in the initial release of the game, the game’s success is indicative of fan desires for slice-of-life sims.
With Pioneers of Olive Town able to break the record so soon after the recent Friends of Mineral Town remake, it’s not unreasonable to speculate the record may be broken again once the long-awaited Rune Factory 5 finally comes west.
