Step Back Into The Past With 1980s-Themed Platformer “Super 80s World”

The 1980s, back when popular culture celebrated its inanity rather than being ashamed of it…if you’re one of the people who still pine away for that era of shelltop Adidas and VHS tapes, you’re in luck: A new indie platformer is about to hit Kickstarter that fulfills that wish.

Called Super 80s World, it’s described by its creator, Michael Cowden of indie studio “Tap Tap Good”, as, quote, “A fun retro-platformer that takes you back to the era of new wave, neon and decadence.”

The game borrows scenes and characters from popular 1980s properties, such as Miami Vice and The Ghostbusters, and has your character riding a Delorean DMC-12, so expect it to be a bit heavy-handed with the 80s references.

The game is planned to release on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android and AndroidTab and will be debuting on Kickstarter within the next couple of weeks. Until then, you can read more about it on its official site or its moddb listing.
