Microsoft have announced The Gunk during the Xbox Games Showcase.

The Gunk is a third person action platformer where players explore a seemingly uncontacted planet. However it is not as peaceful as it first seems. After traversing the untamed wilderness, the main character encounters a mass of caustic black gunk that seems to ebb and flow with a life of its own.

The trailer shows the way players can interact with the gunk, being able to suck it up in their robotic vaccum hand. The trailer also shows the gunk being cleansed and returning back to normal plantlife, but hostile wildlife can also be taken over by the mysterious black ooze.

The Gunk is coming soon to Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
