Steel Empire was a game that originally saw release on the Sega Genesis, but it was later ported to the 3DS in Japan by a collaboration between developers Mebius and Starfish.
As you know, we love shmups here at Niche Gamer and having a throwback steampunk shmup come out now is pretty exciting stuff. Featured above is the game’s North American trailer, as it has been recently confirmed for a release here on the 3DS eShop.
The 3DS remaster comes with full stereoscopic 3D support, re-tweaked difficulty, a new replay mode, and of course – improved visuals.
Steel Empire is coming on July 31st, although the price of nostalgia is high at $29.99 dollars.
