Valve has confirmed the Steam Deck release date is set for February 2022, when the first pre-orders for the device go out to users.

The Steam Deck release date is set for February 25th worldwide, where the lucky users that managed to get the first pre-orders for the PC gaming handheld get the very first Steam Deck consoles.

Here’s some more info for the initial Steam Deck launch:

• We will start sending invites shortly after 10:00 am on February 25th, PST
• Order emails are sent in the same order that reservations were made.
• You can only order the Steam Deck model that you originally reserved.
• Your reservation deposit will be applied to the final price of Steam Deck, and shipping costs are included.

Previously, a slight delay and multiple reassurances to users that the Steam Deck was on track for a February / Q2 2022 release still had some users expecting a last minute delay. Now, it seems the highly anticipated handheld PC is actually and literally releasing next month.

Valve’s Steam Deck is available for pre-order in three flavors: $399 (64GB), $529 (256GB), and $649 (512GB), over on the Steam store.
