Steam Deck and Dock finally in stock without reservations

The Steam Deck has had challenging getting out in a timely manner to those excited to try out Valve’s new handheld gaming device.

Recent news did indicate things were improving when Valve stated last week that shipments were speeding up and that they had moved onto the Q4 reservations.

Apparently it turns out they really were catching up to demand, as they’ve just announced the Steam Deck is officially in stock and you can purchase one without needing a reservation.

That’s right, those wishing to purchase one will no longer need to wait any longer beyond the standard time it takes to ship a product such as this.

Another piece of good news with their latest update comes for the long awaited dock for the device.

Months ago they had delayed it indefinitely, citing COVID-19 and supply shortages as the reason. But just like with the Steam Deck, Valve has announced the official docking system is now available for purchase.

It will come with 3 USB-A 3.1 Gen1 ports, a USB-C port for power, DisplayPort, HDMI, and a Gigabit Ethernet port, allowing it to connect to up to 2 external displays and use peripherals with the device.

There are also software updates for the device, which you can read the full notes in the link above.

Valve’s recently launched Steam Deck is now available, and in three flavors: $399 (64GB), $529 (256GB), and $649 (512GB), over on the Steam store.
