Starsand Island adds Switch 2 version to 2026 release

Starsand Island

Indie developer Seed Lab announced a Switch 2 version for Starsand Island, their cute life simulation game.

Starsand Island is coming to Switch 2 alongside its previously announced PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 versions on February 1st, 2026.

The Switch 2 version of the game will take full advantage of the new hardware, with Quality Mode targeting 45FPS in 1080p resolution, and 60FPS in 1080p resolution in Performance Mode (both docked and handheld), coupled with Game Chat for online multiplayer, and even mouse control functionality.

“Bringing Starsand Island to Nintendo Switch 2 has been a longstanding goal for us; the life-sim genre has a natural home on Nintendo consoles,” Seed Lab creative director Richardo Wang said in a press release. “Even before it was announced nearly a year ago, we knew – and wanted – our game to be on Nintendo’s next-generation platform. Starsand Island transports players to a simple, pastoral life, and we think that should be available whether they’re at home, commuting to and from work, or taking a break.”
