Indie developer Creepy Jar announced an early access launch date for StarRupture, their ambitious new sci-fi survival building game.
StarRupture is set to launch via early access on January 6th, 2026 for Windows PC (via Steam) – slightly missing its previous late 2025 release. The game has proven popular pre-release, being added to over 500,000 Steam wishlists and over 150,000 players trying the game out.
“We’re extremely pleased with the reception to the first open playtest of StarRupture,” Creepy Jar CEO Krzysztof Kwiatek said in a press release. “Our concept for this game is a unique blend of existing genres – base building, exploration, combat, and survival – and players clearly enjoyed it. We’re thrilled that players noticed and appreciated this fresh take on the genre and mechanics they know and love.”
Here’s a rundown on the game, plus a new trailer:
After an incredibly well-received two-week playtest, StarRupture has reached new heights—both in player enthusiasm and in Creepy Jar’s ambition for the game. As the playtest wrapped up, Creepy Jar announced StarRupture crossed over 500,000 wishlists with over 158,000 players jumping in to test their limits on the surface of Arcadia-7. Compiling nearly 200,000 hours watched on livestreams, the response has been nothing short of inspiring as the playtest earned a 91% positive review score and saw a peak of 6,701 concurrent players, making it clear that the community’s excitement is matched only by their overwhelming engagement and invaluable feedback.
The studio will take community feedback, refine every detail, and deliver the StarRupture experience their audience deserves. Originally expected to launch in the Autumn of this year, Creepy Jar is committed to delivering the best possible experience, and the player’s passion seen during the playtest has only fueled Creepy Jar’s drive to do more. The extra time means more polish, more improvements, and more reasons for players to fall in love with StarRupture when it launches on Steam early next year.
