Starfield updates teased, “exciting things planned” with team hard at work

Starfield

Publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer Bethesda Game Studios have promised more content for Starfield months after its first expansion launched.

While the game’s first expansion launched last fall, it’s generally been quiet with any substantial updates for the game and fans started getting worried the developer may be moving on to their next project – which many expect to be The Elder Scrolls VI.

It’s big expansion was touted as an essential upgrade to the game to address criticisms players had with the base release – though it mostly got mixed responses. Since then the team has been quiet on what’s next for Starfield, until now.

“We know you’re eager for an update, and we truly appreciate your passion for Starfield,” Bethesda said in a post. “The team has been hard at work, and while we’re not ready to share specific details just yet, we have a lot of exciting things planned for the game this year that we can’t wait to talk about when the time is right.”

The developer added, “We’re always listening and taking your feedback to heart. Thanks for being part of this journey with us.”

Starfield has been available on Windows PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X|S. Check out our review here! The game’s first expansion, “Shattered Space”, was released back in September 2024.
