Starfield reconfirms release date, set for first half of 2023

Starfield

Bethesda has quietly firmed up the Starfield release date, giving eager fans a bit of hope the wait isn’t much longer.

The studio’s next flagship RPG quietly updated its support page to reconfirm the massive space RPG will launch “in the first half of 2023.”

Previously, the game was regrettably delayed from its November 2022 release date to a general 2023 window — and fans were concerned that meant later in 2023, a full year later.

Starfield is planned for release on both PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X|S, and as a console exclusive to Xbox.

Here’s a brief blurb on the game:

Starfield

Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. In this next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.

The year is 2330. Humanity has ventured beyond our solar system, settling new planets, and living as a spacefaring people. From humble beginnings as a space miner, you will join Constellation – the last group of space explorers seeking rare artifacts throughout the galaxy – and navigate the vast expanse of the Settled Systems in Bethesda Game Studios’ biggest and most ambitious game.

In case you missed it – the first block of gameplay for their open-world space RPG can be viewed here in our previous report.
