Stardew Valley is Getting Splitscreen Co-op in Update 1.5

stardew valley

Independent developer Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone has announced splitscreen co-op is coming in the next patch for Stardew Valley.

The game’s big 1.5 update will include splitscreen cooperative play, which Barone noted is coming to all currently-supported platforms the game is on, including Windows PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The splitscreen mode will allow for up to four players to play in four separate screens. The PS Vita (not supported anymore) and mobile versions won’t get the update.

In related news, whatever ends up being Barone’s highly anticipated next title, we know one of them is set in the same world as Stardew Valley, but isn’t a farming game. Whatever his next game is, there’s certainly a lot of expectation – Stardew Valley sold over 10 million copies as of January 27th of this year.

Stardew Valley is available for Windows PC (via GOG, and Steam) Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Android, and iOS. In case you missed it, you can find our review for Stardew Valley here (we highly recommend it!)
