Starbound Surpasses a Million Copies Sold

Indie action/RPG and so-called “Terraria in space” game Starbound has, according to the developer’s recent twitter posting, hit the million copies sold mark. This is good news for any indie game, and doubly good for Starbound since it’s technically not even out yet and still remains in early access.

With the oldschool aesthetic being very popular right now, and the depth of the game making it attractive to those needing a good time-waster, it isn’t surprising this happened. Good news for indies and alarming news for big studios that feel you need to spend a lot to sell a lot.
