Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Has a Male Protagonist to Offset Rey in the New Movie Trilogy

While most people generally wouldn’t care who or what the main character in a video game is, we’ve learned why Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order features yet another male character.

Apparently, the team at Respawn Entertainment decided on a male character, let alone a human, because Rey is essentially the protagonist of the new Star Wars film trilogy.

“We arrived at where we were because at the time [new film trilogy protagonist] Rey was kind of the thing for Star Wars, so it made a lot more sense for us to have a male protagonist,” game director Stig Asmussen said in an interview with Game Informer.

While Cal Kestis is yet another human, Asmussen said he personally wanted to see an alien protagonist, but that didn’t happen.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order launches November 15th for Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
