Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic director strikes down “not till 2030” rumor

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic

While Arcanaut Studios just announced Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, rumors are spinning on the game not launching for years. The game’s director, Casey Hudson, has gone on to say that isn’t the case.

Regular rumor-monger Jason Schreier from Bloomberg promptly suggested that the new Knights of the Old Republic sequel would optimistically release in 2030 – over four years from now.

The new follow-up is being led by Hudson, game director on the original Knights of the Old Republic. The rumor combined with the teaser having no gameplay led many to believe it to be true, so Hudson struck down the rumor.

“Don’t worry about the “not till 2030” rumors. Game will be out before then,” Hudson said. The game director also joked saying, “I’m not getting any younger!”

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic is in development for Windows PC and unspecified consoles though a release date wasn’t confirmed.
