Square enix and tri-Ace have revealed Star Ocean: Anamnesis in the latest Famitsu (also via Hachima).

The new game is a mobile RPG that features the series’ hallmark full 3D, real-time battles, high-definition visuals, and up to four-player multiplayer battles. Developer tri-Ace is promising that battles will be rewarding and intuitive, while making intelligent use of touch controls.

As per the game’s first artwork, characters from various games in the series will appear in the game, including: Star Ocean 5’s Fidel and Miki, Star Ocean 4’s Reimi and Shimada, Star Ocean 3’s Cliff and Nel, Star Ocean 2’s Rena, and Roddick from Star Ocean 1. There’s also be entirely new characters.

Square Enix is going to run a pre-registration campaign for the game, with the promise of a Valkyrie Profile character at 100,000 registrations, and Star Ocean’s Welch at over 200,000 registrations.
