Roberts Space Industries have shown off the new ship damage model for Star Citizen, their crazy ambitious space simulator.

Featured above, the new trailer shows off both laser damage (burns, minor damages) as well as major, major ship destruction – you can literally see pieces getting broken off as they fly everywhere.

Things get really amazing and yet painful (if you can imagine how expensive these ships cost in game) when you see a ship be reduced to nothing but a cockpit, or in the case of the final ship, get the brunt force of a gatling gun.
