Star Citizen is going to get a lot bigger on May 29th, when the Arena Commander module is finally unleashed for the crowdfunded space-simulator. News of the dogfighting module hitting next week came via creator Chris Roberts’ announcement on the game’s official blog.
Every backer who funded the game through any of its various payment methods (crowdfunding totals are at roughly $43 million) will have access to two different single player modes, which are Free Flight and Vanduul Swarm.
Roberts elaborated on how accessibility will roll out with both modes:
“The very first batch of multiplayer testers will get access to the game’s multiplayer game modes. We will scale up the multiplayer as quickly as possible starting on that date, increasing the number of players as it is stable and stopping to fix bugs where needed.”
Arena Commander was first publicly demonstrated at PAX East this past April.
