One of the core developers of the upcoming indie horror game SSR Wives has come out and claimed that an investor has effectively “stolen” the project and locked them out of the game’s Twitter account.
The game’s lead developer “Protag” released a statement explaining his side of events, wherein he accuses Jozef Gherman of firing the core team to replace them with “cheap, foreign labor” and silence the original team with litigation. Protag goes on to say that he is still in possession of the content, code, and much of the artwork for the game.

In response, Jozef Gherman posted what appears to be an agreement behind the owner of the IP and himself and claims that the core dev team was attempting to “renege” on their contract.
In his statement, Gherman makes vague references to “demands” that the core team has allegedly made without going into further detail.
It’s worth mentioning that Gherman is the founder of “StealthGPT” an AI chatbot that markets itself as a writing tool that can fool readers, and has been charged by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for soliciting approximately $300,000 from investors based on “false and misleading statements”. You can read the full statement from the CFTC here.
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced today that it has issued an order filing and settling charges against Jozef Gherman of Florida and J Squared LLC, a Florida limited liability company, for making misleading statements or omitting material facts in connection with soliciting more than $300,000 from over 40 individuals to invest in digital assets. Gherman was an employee and one of the founders of J Squared and was its principal owner and CEO.
SSR Wives quickly gained a cult fanbase following its demo release earlier this year with many fans saying that they’re mainly interested in Protag’s artwork.
